Thornveld Safaris, in association with Nature Active, are able to offer a more adventurous approach to African travel. A hands on, camping, 16 day road trip from Johannesburg through some of the remotest parts of Botswana, returning to Johannesburg. The trip is basically best suited to the 18 – 35 age bracket but if you are willing and able, age is not a factor. These trips do involve ‘roughing it’ in certain parts. It’s an adventure rather than a tour.
All equipment is provided and a certain amount of camp participation may be called for. Some parts of the trip, camping is done in wild areas and sites are often visited by wild animals. The well trained guides are always on hand for personal safety, 100% safety record till date. Professionally converted, 4 x 4 vehicles are used. They have seating capacity for 8 passengers on reclining, high back seats. They are air-conditioned, have great sound systems and DVD facilities. Once in the bush, the roof elevates and the rear section opens completely allowing uninterrupted game viewing. A full outline of the itinerary is available on request.
